Have your say on Lerwick 28’s £200,000 commission proposals

What would you like to see brought to life as part of Lerwick 28? People across Shetland are invited to explore the £200,000 commission proposals and vote for their favourite by Sunday 25 October.
How your vote will help?
The public vote will help us understand which ideas people across Shetland are most excited about. It is advisory, meaning it won’t automatically decide which commission is selected, but the results will be considered by the commissioning panel as it develops the proposed programme.
This is an opportunity to tell us which proposal captures your imagination and what you would most like to see happen in 2028.
What happens next?
The commissioning panel will meet at Mareel on Monday 26 October to consider applications and develop its preferred commissioning programme for the final bid.
Alongside the public vote, the panel will consider artistic ambition, opportunities for young people, involvement of Shetland creatives, community participation and lasting benefits. It will also look at how proposals could be delivered and how they fit together across the programme.
Our final Town of Culture bid must be submitted by 30 November 2026. Delivery of the proposed programme will depend on the outcome of the competition and confirmation of funding.
Vote now!
Take a look through the proposals, think about what you would love to see brought to life, and let us your favourite.
